Job Description
The Stock Controller (Audit Officer) is responsible for managing inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring accuracy between physical stock and system reports. The role involves using computerized inventory systems such as Tally, ERP, or SAP to process purchasing and shipping orders, maintain accurate databases, and support warehouse operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Enter and manage inventory data using computerized systems such as Tally, ERP, SAP, or similar software.
2. Record purchases and maintain accurate inventory databases.
3. Perform regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system-generated reports. Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and goods received notes in line with established procedures.
4. Review paperwork, verify product codes, and confirm processed orders for accuracy.
5. Monitor and maintain current inventory levels and initiate purchase orders when necessary.
6. Track and follow up on purchase orders and investigate inventory discrepancies or issues.
7. Assist in periodic and annual stock-taking exercises at the warehouse.
8. Track defective items, returns, purchase rates, and order accuracy to improve quality control processes.
9. Ensure proper arrangement and storage of stock to prevent damages and losses.
10. Visit customers when required to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. 2–5 years of warehousing experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.
3. Strong ability to reconcile physical stock counts with report data.
4. Proficiency in inventory management systems (Tally, ERP, SAP, or similar).
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Good data management and reporting skills.
7. Physically fit and able to lift goods and stand for extended periods.
