SAFETY SUPERVISORS

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, implementing safety protocols and procedures, conducting risk assessments and training employees to prevent accidents and injuries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement and refine safety management systems, operational procedures and guidelines, ensuring alignment with laws, regulations and company standards.
• Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs, drills and workshops to enhance employee safety knowledge, emergency response capabilities and situational awareness.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments and risk analyses, identifying and mitigating potential risks in a timely manner.
• Investigate, analyze and document safety incidents, developing corrective actions, preventive measures and implementing changes to prevent recurrence.
•  Collect, analyze, interpret and present safety-related data, providing actionable insights, recommendations and trend analysis for continuous improvement.
•  Oversee the procurement, use, maintenance, calibration and inspection of safety equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance.
• Monitor, interpret and ensure adherence to national, local and industry-specific safety regulations, standards and best practices.
•  Foster a safety-first culture through interdepartmental communication, coordination, training and collaboration.
• Conduct regular reviews, assessments and benchmarking to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
• Develop, implement and maintain emergency response plans, conducting regular drills and exercises.
• Ensure safety standards are met by contractors, suppliers and third-party service providers.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and benchmarks to measure safety performance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent is required.
•  Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, leading teams and managing safety programs.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
•  In-depth understanding of safety protocols, safe management systems, leadership and risk management principles.
• Familiarity with international safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001) and regulatory requirements.
•  Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Keen attention to details.
