GENERAL LEDGER SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a general ledger supervisor  to oversee our accounting department’s daily operations.You will work closely with a team of accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and tax audits. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our financial management is accurate and effective.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review daily payments, ensuring compliance with invoices and organizational policies.
•  Communicate effectively with various departments to enhance invoice processing efficiency, accuracy and timeliness.
• Post entries accurately, ensuring timely and efficient financial processing.
• Suggest and implement optimized processes for accounting treatment, improving overall financial operations.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and prepare bank balance adjustment statements
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolving issues.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, laws and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for management decision-making.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
• Manage customer account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and related tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with a major in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in accounts payable or accounting.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification or partially qualified is a plus
•  Excel expertise (mandatory, will be tested during interview)
• Basic knowledge of taxation principles and practices, accounting standards and regulations and financial analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with SAP software is preferred
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle, QuickBooks)
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling financial information.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
