Job Description
The Cafe Attendant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving coffee, quick meals, and other cafe menu items, while maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate must be neat, reliable, customer-friendly, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced cafe setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Welcome customers warmly and attend to their orders.
2. Operate the coffee machine to prepare coffee and other beverages according to customer requests.
3. Prepare quick meals on the menu, including waffles, wraps, pastries, sandwiches, yoghurt, and other simple cafe items.
4. Ensure meals and beverages are prepared and served in a timely and hygienic manner.
5. Provide customers with accurate information about menu items, prices, and available options.
6. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the cafe, including the serving area, preparation area, tables, and equipment.
7. Observe basic food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
8. Assist with stock arrangement, replenishment, and proper storage of food items and supplies.
9. Monitor product availability and promptly report shortages to the supervisor or manager.
10. Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
11. Support daily sales activities and ensure proper recording of customer orders where required.
12. Assist with packaging of takeaway orders and ensure orders are correctly prepared.
13. Follow company procedures regarding customer service, hygiene, attendance, and workplace conduct.
14. Work cooperatively with other team members to ensure smooth cafe operations.
15. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be able to operate a coffee machine.
2. Must be able to prepare at least five quick meals on the menu, such as waffles, wraps, pastries, sandwiches, and yoghurt.
3. Must have a fair understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
4. Prior experience in a cafe, restaurant, bakery, hotel, or food service environment will be an advantage.
5. Must be neat, reliable, punctual, and customer-friendly.
6. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Must be willing to work rotational shifts.
8. Must be honest, hardworking, and willing to learn.
