Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to prepare high-quality meals while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, kitchen organization, and ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to approved recipes and menus.
2. Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the required quality standards.
3. Plan and organize ingredients required for daily meal preparation.
4. Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of food items.
5. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
6. Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and maintained.
7. Monitor food stock and report shortages or items that need to be purchased.
8. Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
9. Ensure proper portion control and presentation of meals.
10. Follow all health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.
11. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
12. Assist with menu planning when required.
13. Work closely with other kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
1. Certificate or Diploma in Catering, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2–5 years of proven experience as a Cook or Chef.
3. Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
4. Experience preparing a variety of local and continental dishes will be an advantage.
5. Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, catering company, school, or similar environment is an added advantage.
