Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resource Manager to lead and establish the full HR function for our industrial plant in Tema. This role is responsible for setting up HR systems from the ground up, ensuring full compliance with Ghana Labour Law, managing workforce planning, payroll, industrial relations, performance management, and fostering a strong safety and productivity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 1.⁠ ⁠HR Setup & Systems Implementation (Start-Up Phase)
 2.⁠ ⁠Establish HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook aligned with Ghana Labour Act and company governance standards.
 3.⁠ ⁠Design organizational structure and grading system.
 4.⁠ ⁠Implement HRIS and payroll systems.
 5.⁠ ⁠Develop employment contracts (local and expatriate where applicable).
 6.⁠ ⁠Set up statutory compliance systems (SSNIT, PAYE, Tier 2/3 pensions, insurance).
 7.⁠ ⁠Coordinate recruitment of expatriate technical staff where necessary.
 8.⁠ ⁠Build a talent pipeline for shift-based production teams.
 9.⁠ ⁠Manage probation evaluations and confirmations.
10.⁠ ⁠Ensure full compliance with Ghana Labour Law and occupational safety standards.
11.⁠ ⁠Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
12.⁠ ⁠Develop policies for shift work, overtime, and attendance management.
13.⁠ ⁠Support management in future labor negotiations (if unionized).
14.⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
15.⁠ ⁠with performance management process

REQUIREMENTS
 1.⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
 2.⁠ ⁠Minimum 5–7 years of HR experience.
 3.⁠ ⁠At least 3–5 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment (FMCG preferred).
 4.⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of Ghana Labour Law.
 5.⁠ ⁠Experience setting up HR systems from scratch (strongly preferred).
 6.⁠ ⁠Experience in shift-based or factory environments.
 7.⁠ ⁠Strong organizational and systems-building capability.
 8.⁠ ⁠High level of integrity and confidentiality.
 9.⁠ ⁠Industrial workforce management expertise.
10.⁠ ⁠Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills.
11.⁠ ⁠Ability to operate in structured, performance-driven environments.
12.⁠ ⁠Proficiency in HR software and payroll systems.
13.⁠ ⁠Strong analytical, reporting, and budgeting skills.
