Job Description
To prepare and cook a variety of meals efficiently and hygienically to meet the daily food service needs of the business and its clients/customers, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and cleanliness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and prepare daily meals as per the menu and customer preferences.
• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of meals.
• Always maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and all utensils.
• Ensure proper storage of food items and ingredients.
• Monitor food stock levels and report low stock to management.
• Adhere to food safety standards and health regulations.
• Assist with menu planning and suggest new meal ideas.
• Manage leftovers properly and minimize food wastage.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and kitchen equipment daily.
• Comply with the work schedule and communicate in advance when unable to report to work.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum Senior High School (SHS) certificate with a catering qualification or culinary degree.
• At least 2 years of proven experience as a cook or kitchen assistant, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality food.
• Knowledge of local and/or continental dishes.
• Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High level of reliability and discipline.
