Job Description
The Production Shift Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing plastic molding operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficient production, quality compliance, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety standards. The role involves coordinating machine operations, troubleshooting process issues, managing shift staff, and meeting daily production targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervise and coordinate all plastic molding activities during assigned shifts
2. Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met
3. Set up, monitor, and optimize plastic molding machines and production processes
4. Troubleshoot machine, mold, and process-related issues to minimize downtime
5. Conduct routine checks on machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment
6. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
7. Monitor raw material usage and reduce waste and rework
8. Supervise, guide, and motivate machine operators and shift technicians
9. Maintain accurate shift reports on production output, downtime, defects, and incidents
10. Liaise with maintenance, quality control, and warehouse teams for smooth operations
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
12. Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S standards within the production area
REQUIREMENTS
1. HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
2. Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in plastic molding or manufacturing operations
3. Hands-on experience with injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion processes is an advantage
4. Strong understanding of production processes, machine operations, and quality control
5. Knowledge of safety standards and manufacturing best practices
6. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
7. Ability to work under pressure and manage shift-based operations
8. Good leadership and people management skills
9. Strong communication and reporting skills
10. Basic computer skills (MS Excel, production reporting tools)
11. Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
