Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Recovery Officer to manage overdue accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will maintain strong client relationships while implementing effective recovery strategies to minimize financial losses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor and manage overdue accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
2. Contact clients via phone, email, or in-person to follow up on debts
3. Negotiate repayment plans with clients in line with company policy
4. Maintain accurate records of all recovery activities and client communications
5. Prepare regular reports on recovery performance and outstanding accounts
6. Identify potential high-risk accounts and recommend mitigation strategies
7. Collaborate with finance, legal, and customer service teams to resolve disputes
8. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and ethical debt collection practices
9. Provide recommendations to improve debt recovery processes and reduce defaults
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
2. Proven experience as a Recovery Officer, Debt Collector, or in a similar finance role (2 years preferred)
3. Strong knowledge of debt collection procedures, credit management, and financial regulations
4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
6. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
7. Ability to work independently, meet targets, and handle challenging clients
8. Proficiency in MS Office and finance/accounting software
