Job Description
The Account Officer will play a key role in the finance team, primarily responsible for managing accounts receivables, ensuring timely collection from customers, accurate recording of transactions, and maintaining strong credit control. The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitor and manage accounts receivable ledger and ensure timely collection of payments from clients.
2. Prepare and send customer invoices, payment reminders, and statements of account.
3. Reconcile customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
4. Maintain up-to-date records of customer transactions and ensure proper documentation.
5. Prepare aging reports and escalate overdue accounts to management for necessary actions.
6. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve customer disputes affecting payment.
7. Conduct credit risk assessments for new and existing clients.
8. Perform bank reconciliations, post journal entries, and assist in month-end closing activities.
9. Generate and analyze financial reports using advanced Excel tools such as pivot tables, etc.
10. Support internal and external audits by providing relevant data and reports.
11. Ensure compliance with all company accounting policies and relevant financial regulations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Proven experience managing accounts receivables and credit control.
4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tally.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
8. Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or ERP systems) is a plus.
