Job Description
We are seeking reliable dispatch riders to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient collection and delivery of patient samples, medical reports, documents, supplies, and other company materials between laboratories, Patient Service Centres (PSCs), hospitals, clinics, corporate clients, and other designated locations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect and deliver patient samples from hospitals, clinics, PSCs, corporate clients and other designated collection points to the assigned laboratory.
2. Ensure samples are transported safely within the required turnaround time (TAT), adhering strictly to established sample-handling protocols.
3. Collect and deliver medical reports, documents, invoices, requisitions, medical supplies and other assigned materials.
4. Follow daily dispatch schedules and plan routes efficiently to minimize delays.
5. Maintain regular communication with the laboratory, PSCs, Customer Care and Logistics teams regarding pickup and delivery status.
6. Obtain and maintain accurate proof of collection and delivery, including signatures and other required acknowledgements.
7. Immediately report sample leakage, damage, loss, delays or other incidents to the supervisor.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information, medical reports and company documents.
9. Ensure samples and materials are properly secured and never left unattended or exposed to inappropriate transportation conditions.
10. Maintain the assigned or personally owned motorcycle in safe and roadworthy condition, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly.
11. Maintain accurate daily dispatch logs, mileage records and fuel documentation.
12. Comply with Ghanaian road traffic regulations, occupational safety requirements and company policies.
13. Effectively utilize GPS/Google Maps for navigation and route optimization.
14. Respond promptly to urgent or priority sample movements when required.
15. Support other logistics and operational activities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum SHS/WASSCE qualification or equivalent.
2. Valid Ghanaian motorcycle riding license.
3. Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Dispatch Rider, preferably within healthcare, laboratory, pharmacy, or medical logistics.
4. Good knowledge of Tema and surrounding communities.
5. Ability to use Google Maps/GPS effectively for route planning.
6. Good communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
7. Basic knowledge of motorcycle maintenance and road safety.
8. Physically fit and willing to work flexible hours when required.
